Festival of the Arts Boca, Boca Raton’s celebrated cultural event, will host a virtual music competition open to Broward and Palm Beach County classical string music students beginning on Tuesday, September 1. Students aged 18 years old and younger are invited to submit a five to fifteen-minute long video application and make a $25 donation to the festival through December 31 here.

“Since its inception 15 years ago, Festival of the Arts Boca has supported our community and youth through various outreach programs,” said Joanna Marie Kaye, director of the Festival of the Arts Boca. “During these challenging times, we are excited to expand our program to offer students much-needed assistance and showcase some of the most talented aspiring musicians in South Florida.”

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three competitors. The student who wins first place will receive $5,000 and the opportunity to perform at an upcoming Festival of the Arts Boca concert; the second place winner will receive $3,000 and the opportunity to perform at a sponsor appreciation reception; and the third place winner will receive $1,500.
