Food Truck Safari at the Palm Beach Zoo

Bring your appetites to Dreher Park this Saturday, June 27: the return of the Palm Beach Zoo and Conservation Society’s Food Truck Safari is upon us. The popular foodie-in-the-wild summer event brings some of South Florida’s best mobile kitchens to the zoo, where the gates stay open late, giving guests a chance to dine and imbibe while the zoo’s nocturnal animal ambassadors let out their nighttime roars.

A fun evening for the whole family, Food Truck Safari pairs great eats, live entertainment, kids activities, and a chance to explore the zoo by night. Guests will enjoy zookeeper talks and up-close animal encounters, giving the event an added boost of education, while kids—of all ages—can enjoy a ride on the Wildlife Carousel, a trip on the Safari Train, and a splash in the Interactive Fountain. Taking the stage, singer/songwriter Shauna Sweeney will give the event a laid-back vibe with her brand of acoustic rock, while the Cuban Latin Show Band will spice it up with their Afro-Cuban beats.

As for eats, the Food Truck Collective has wrangled some notable kitchens-on-wheels. June’s food trucks include Parabas Grill (tropical street food), PS561 (gourmet hot dogs and veggie dogs), CheeseZilla (gourmet grilled cheese), It’s a Cubano B (modern Cuban cuisine), and Sweet Cravings NY (delicious desserts on the go); beer and wine will be available for the 21-and-up set. And seeing that this is the zoo, proponents of conservation in everyday life, a “Sustainability Award” will be awarded to the food truck that utilizes the best sustainable practices in their daily operations.

  • Admission to the Food Truck Safari costs $10 for adults, $7 for children (zoo members receive a $1 discount on admission). Gates open at 4:30 p.m., food trucks begin serving at 5:30 p.m. For more information, visit palmbeachzoo.org.

Future Food Truck Safari dates: July 25, August 22, and September 26.
