From the Tweet Seats: Macbeth

The Palm Beach Opera‘s 2014 season is officially underway, and that means the return of Tweet Seats. For the past three seasons, PBO has invited tweeters to live tweet from their final dress rehearsal productions. First up for the 2014 season: Macbeth. Giuseppe Verdi composed the opera in the mid-nineteenth century, using William Shakespeare’s tragedy as the source material. Macbeth is a general in the Scottish army who, after receiving a prophecy from three witches, decides to murder the King of Scotland and usurp the throne. The plot of Verdi’s opera follows that of the original, with some tweaks, namely the three witches becoming a chorus of witches. To get a better sense of the opera, check out our tweets below!

This opera in four acts begins its run at the Kravis Center tonight, with shows through Sunday, January 26. To learn more or to purchase tickets, visit pbopera.org.
