Future Wavemakers, the leading youth marine conservation initiative in Florida, will host its Second Annual Cocktail Party Fundraiser at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach on April 24. The elegant ocean-themed event will honor renowned oceanographer Sylvia Earle, affectionately known as “Her Deepness,” and regarded globally as an Ocean Icon.

The event will be led by honorary co-chairs James “Chip” DiPaula and Julie Fisher Cummings, alongside co-chairs Lilly Leas Ferreira, Cara Coniglio McClure, Gabrielle Raymond McGee, and Andrea Pertnoy.
As they mingle, guests will learn about the innovative conservation projects developed by student participants in the Future Wavemakers program. They are encouraged to don “ocean chic” attire. For tickets, visit futurewavemakers.org/party.
Proceeds will support scholarships, grants, and STEM programming for students, schools, and organizations participating in the Future Wavemakers Competition. This statewide competition invites students to create video presentations to share their ideas for ocean conservation.
Finalists will pitch their solutions live to Shark judges—including Earle, former Apple CEO John Sculley, marine biologist Danni Washington, filmmaker Luca Martinez, and Wavemakers founder and author Gabrielle Raymond McGee—during “Friendly Shark Tank.”

The Wavemakers Symposium will take place at Manatee Lagoon in West Palm Beach on April 25. Tickets are $45 and are available at futurewavemakers.org/conservation-symposium/. The Wavemakers Kids Summit follows on April 26. Tickets are $15 and are available at futurewavemakers.org/kids-summit/.
