The Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival will stage Shakespeare by the Palms VI productions of Macbeth February 12–15. Presented by The Village of Royal Palm Beach, performances take place at the Veteran’s Park Amphitheater from 7 to 9 p.m. each night. Admission is free with a suggested donation of $5 per person.

Visiting guest artist Benjamin Lusk will return to the festival in the titular role of the Scottish lord driven to madness by his own greed and ambition. Lusk is a multidisciplinary artist and co-founder and frontman for the Nashville-based indie band, Rally Club. Amy Simms, who appeared in the titular role of the festival’s critically acclaimed production of King Lear, will star as Lady Macbeth.

The cast includes returning actors Mary Stucchi (A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream) as Lady Macduff; Max Fonrose (The Winter’s Tale) as Duncan; and John Campagnuolo (Romeo & Juliet) as Banquo.

Adapted and directed by artistic director Trent Stephens, Macbeth takes audiences to a dark realm of ambition, prophecy, and betrayal. When three witches predict that Macbeth will become king, a tragic chain of events begins. At the heart of the play is the intense and fateful bond of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, which fuels a rise to power and a downward spiral into madness and disaster.

The Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival’s season continues with the Shakespeare by the Sea XXXVI world premiere of Falstaff July 9–19, Thursdays through Sundays at the Seabreeze Amphitheater in Carlin Park in Jupiter.
