Historical Society to Unveil “Sunshine Cinema: Florida in Film”

The Historical Society of Palm Beach County will unveil the season’s grand exhibit, “Sunshine Cinema: Florida in Film,” on November 13 during an evening reception at the Richard and Pat Johnson Palm Beach County History Museum.

This exciting exhibition celebrates the magic, glamour, and cultural impact of Florida’s role in film—from early Hollywood classics to contemporary productions that capture the Sunshine State’s spirit.

Through vibrant displays, rare film memorabilia, interactive installations, and archival treasures, “Sunshine Cinema” immerses visitors in the stories, stars, and scenes that have made Florida a cinematic icon. From tropical noir and coastal comedies to Palm Beach elegance on screen, the exhibit reveals how film has both shaped and reflected Florida’s identity.
