Palm Beach’s signature thoroughfare, Worth Avenue, is full of life this time of year. Beginning December 7, the avenue’s remarkable past comes alive with the return of the Historical Walking Tours of Worth Avenue. Led by local historian Rick Rose, the tours take off from 256 Worth Avenue at 11 a.m. every Wednesday through April. They last approximately 75 minutes and cost $10, with net proceeds donated to an area charity.
Marley Herring, owner of Marley’s Palm Beach Collection and president of the Worth Avenue Association, describes the tour as a celebration of Worth Avenue’s unique history. “Rick Rose is such a wonderful storyteller that the events almost come to life,” Herring says. “Picture Addison Mizner with Johnnie Brown on his shoulder, the Kennedys walking on Worth Avenue, or the Duke and Duchess of Windsor having cocktails at Ta-bóo.”
