Honoring the Class of 2020

GL Homes and The Lord's Place came together to give four high school graduates a cap and gown experience.

Students across the country have overcome incredible hurdles in the last two months to make it to graduation. Because the nation’s ceremonies are happening virtually to keep people safe during the COVID-19 crisis, young scholars are unable to walk across their schools’ stages in their caps and gowns. GL Homes and The Lord’s Place, a West Palm Beach-based organization dedicated to ending the cycle of homelessness, stepped in to change that.

On Tuesday, May 19, GL Homes partnered with the organization to provide a cap and gown experience to four high school graduates. In addition to reaching graduation through the novel coronavirus pandemic, these students have also overcome homelessness while in pursuit of their education. These resilient teens were each given a cap and gown set in their school colors, a session with professional photographer, Tracey Benson, a bouquet of flowers, and cookie platters from Joshua Catering Co. to celebrate their hard work.

Congratulations to Cleveland Mack, McKenna Kellon, Sarah Thomas, and Sylvia Hooks!
