Production History: While you may be most familiar with Steven Spielberg’s 2011 film, the story of War Horse comes from Michael Morpurgo’s 1982 novel. The play, penned by Nick Stafford, premiered in London in 2007 before coming to Broadway in 2011.

 

Synopsis: War Horse illustrates the horrors of WWI through the perspective of Joey, a horse sold to a cavalry regiment. The play highlights the relationship between Joey and his owner’s son, Albert Narracott.
