The Libby Dodson’s Live at Lynn Theatre Series, under the umbrella of the Live at Lynn program, was developed by producer Jan McArt to bring Lynn University and the community-at-large the best in family entertainment, including original and known musical properties, drama, and theatrical presentations of an international and national reputation. Now in its 10th season, Live at Lynn encompasses innovative and entertaining musical and concert programs. Producer McArt is constantly searching all areas of theatre and musical presentations for things that will be educational, inspiring or entertaining for audiences who have a wide range of age and interests. The cabaret reception series immediately following the opening night performances has become the place to be seen and to enjoy a night out while becoming acquainted with like-thinking neighbors and friends.


This year, the series will begin in October 2014 and go through March 2015. Tickets range from $45 for mezzanine seating up to $65 for box seating. Series subscriptions are also available starting at $236. The Broadway Boys: Lullaby of Broadway

Saturday, October 18 – 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, October 19 – 4 p.m.

Enjoy classic songs reinvented and show tunes given a contemporary flare. The Broadway Boys showcase much-loved songs from the Great White Way. Exploring harmonies rarely presented by Broadway singers, the boys add funk, rock, gospel, jazz and folk to create a “symphony of sound.”

Vivien: A journey into the triumph and madness of Vivien Leigh

Saturday, November 8 – 7:30 p.m.

Vivien Leigh is best-known for her Academy Award-winning roles as Scarlett in Gone with the Wind and Blanche DuBois in Streetcar Named Desire. Her story includes fascinating characters, from Noel Coward and Edward Albee to Winston Churchill, Katherine Hepburn and, of course, the love of her life—Laurence Olivier. Award-winning actress, director and Young and the Restless star Judith Chapman captures Leigh’s star quality and frailties with mastery in this one-woman production.

Critically acclaimed for their dynamic and sensual repertoire, River North Dance Chicago is known for gifted and emotive dancers, electrifying music and radiant and dramatic choreography that demonstrate depth and sophistication with bold, theatrical flair. Dedicated to the creative advancement and preservation of jazz-based contemporary dance, the dancers have made a name for themselves on the world stage with their powerful selections and commanding choreography under the artistic direction of Frank Chaves.

Chaves aims for audiences to feel the complete spectrum of human emotions in a single evening, leaving them joyful and exhilarated at the end of each program.

The Phantom’s Leading Ladies

A trio of Broadway’s Christine Daaes from The Phantom of the Opera sing everything from Broadway classics to the Beatles as solo artists and in distinctively intricate three-part harmony. Starring Mary D’Arcy, who played opposite original Phantom Michael Crawford; Karen Culliver, who starred on Broadway; and Terri Bigg who starred both on Broadway and in the National Tour, this show provides a night of musical entertainment that focuses on their friendship. These beautiful women provide an evening of surprises and flirtatious fun with exquisite musicianship, humor and class. Think Three Tenors, but cooler, funnier and they look better in cocktail dresses!
