“Life is a banquet, and most poor sons-of-bitches are starving to death.” It’s a bold statement from the bold woman behind the Broadway musical Mame, taking the stage at Lake Worth Playhouse from October 9-26.
Set during the Great Depression, eccentric bohemian Mame Dennis is living a fabulously fabulous life in New York City, filled with a wealthy and intellectual, artsy crowd of friends. But all is changed when the 10-year-old son of her deceased brother comes to live with her. Instead of bowing to convention, Mame takes young Patrick on a series of adventures, complete with an unforgettable cast of characters.
