The Ben hotel in West Palm Beach is ushering in the winter season with an array of new menu delights at its two flagship eateries.
Described as a nouveau Florida chophouse, Proper Grit reinterprets some of the state’s signature flavors with a modern spin, utilizing seasonal ingredients from local farms. Its breakfast menu includes new items such as a truffle scrambled egg croissant, while brunch now boasts a bourbon and apple French toast casserole, lobster deviled eggs, and shrimp and polenta. The lunch menu features an entirely new category deemed All-American Pioneer Bowls, wherein guest can build their own meal with a choice of protein, sauce, grain, and salad. For dinner, select from fresh new dishes such as braised Wagyu short rib, local yellowtail snapper, and seafood fritters.
Over at Spruzzo, The Ben’s tawny rooftop restaurant, diners are privy to an all-day menu featuring Italian, French, and Spanish influences. New items include a seafood paella, barbecue octopus, lobster roll sliders, and salmon with a creamy Parmesan risotto.
Proper Grit is open seven days a week for breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. (until noon on Saturdays and Sundays), lunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. In addition, it hosts a happy hour at the bar Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. Spruzzo is also open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., with a last call for drinks at midnight.
