The Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach will kick off November with two new exhibitions. The art center will debut a vibrant collection of contemporary oil paintings by Jupiter-based artist Eileen Lyons on November 5 and a shining showcase of original artist works by veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces on November 6.
In “Navigation of Place: Elemental Forces at Work” Lyons will showcase her inspired works of nature’s places and patterns. Her exhibition will be on display through Saturday, November 21, in the Armory’s Montgomery Hall. The art center will host an opening preview reception on Thursday, November 5. Pre-registration is required.
The Armory Art Center will continue their artistic offerings with this year’s “BraveHeARTS” multimedia exhibition, which will feature works by veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. The annual showcase is the culmination of the partnership between the art center and Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center of West Palm Beach. The Armory Art Center’s diverse BraveHeARTS visual arts program for veterans is designed to promote the rehabilitation of military service veterans, foster self-esteem, nurture talent, and develop new skills. Objectives of the program are to help veterans be present, improve dexterity, foster a sense of accomplishment, learn new skills, and re-discover strengths, while increasing use of community resources and re-entry skills.
The community can celebrate, honor, and meet the artists at an opening reception on Friday, November 6, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Armory Art Center’s East Gallery. Pre-registration is required. The exhibition will be on display through Saturday, November 21.
