On Stage: King Lear

Florida Atlantic University’s Department of Theatre and Dance will present one of Bard of Avon’s most acclaimed dramas, King Lear, April 15-24. Considered one of Shakespeare’s greatest plays, this incredibly electric tale of an old monarch’s tragic descent into madness and personal hell is the ultimate family drama and political thriller. With depictions of greater cruelty and greater tenderness than perhaps any of Shakespeare’s other plays, king and kingdom are scorched, human nature scrutinized, the wise made fools, fools venerated for their wisdom, and through it all, hope lives eternal.
