From cocktail parties to board meetings, everyone is talking about the changing face of Palm Beach. True, the influx of people from other parts of the country has grown exponentially since the pandemic, and our community has changed—but often for the better.
Case in point: among our many new neighbors are some very fascinating, accomplished, and generous individuals who are contributing to their new home in positive ways. People like Bobbi Brown and her husband, Steven Plofker, newish part-time residents of Palm Beach Gardens, are so bullish on this community that they’ve brought their first Jones Road store outside of the Northeast to Palm Beach. And if Jones Road’s opening party is any indication, Palm Beach is equally enamored.
In this month’s cover story, we talk with the woman behind the makeup empire, which she began in 1991 with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics (now owned by Estée Lauder) and recently reinvented with Jones Road. After a few hours in her presence, I found Bobbi to be a whip-smart entrepreneur but also a down-to-earth woman who knows exactly who she is—and walks her talk every day.
