Pony Up for POST at IPC

Alan Metzger - Polo Rumble - winner of IPC's 2014 Commemorative Poster Contest
Alan Metzger’s Polo Rumble, the winning selection of IPC’s 2014 Commemorative Poster Contest, will be up for grabs in Pony Up for POST’s silent auction held on March 6 at IPC’s Pavilion.

Art and sport will come together for a unique event in support of children and their families dealing with the impacts of pediatric cancer when Pony Up for POST comes to the International Polo Club Palm Beach‘s Pavilion on March 6. In partnership with Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation, Pony Up for POST will raise funds for Palms West Hospital’s Pediatric Oncology Support Team by auctioning off the artistic submissions to IPC’s first commemorative poster contest.

IPC’s inaugural commemorative poster contest garnered more than 40 entrants from all over the country, each offering a distinct artistic vision of what polo in South Florida looks like. Fort Lauderdale artist Alan Metzger took top billing with his impressionistic Polo Rumble oil painting. This painting, along with 30 additional works of art in an array of mediums from painting and mixed media to photography, will be up for grabs during a silent auction March 6 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Many of the artists will be on hand for the evening’s festivities, giving prospective bidders a chance to meet the talent behind the work, as well as players from the pitch who acted as inspiration. Guests will also enjoy live entertainment, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres to boot.

All proceeds, including 100 percent of the $50 ticket price, will directly benefit Palms West Hospital’s Pediatric Oncology Support Team. Dedicated to helping children and their families impacted with diagnosis and the treatment of cancer and blood diseases, POST offers counseling, financial assistance and dialogue about treatment.

Additionally, every attendee is automatically entered in a drawing to win a one-year membership to Wanderers Club’s golf club.

  • Admission costs $50, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting POST.
