In a spirited toast to the approaching end of the social season, Young Friends of Palm Beach Symphony will present “Above the Bar,” a local celebrity bartending competition on May 12 at 6 p.m. at Square Grouper Tiki Bar in Jupiter Inlet.
Palm Beach Post Notables editor Krystian von Speidel and Jente “Goose” Gees of La Goulue Palm Beach, who recently won the grand prize in the national Gentleman Jack Daniels Whiskey Sour Classic, will serve as honorary bartenders as four teams vie to take home The Maestro Mixologist Award. The additional competing bartending teams are: Thomas D’Agostino and Danielle Rollins; Kristoffer Doura and Kristen Desmond LeFevre; Scott Diament and Nannette Cassidy; David McClymont and Emily Pantelides; and Matthew McGeever and Hailey Feldman.
“It’s an honor to host an event for the Palm Beach Symphony,” said Jim Burg, owner of Square Grouper Tiki Bar. “There is nothing more rewarding than partnering with a nonprofit that is deeply devoted to music education and outreach programs within our community. Their commitment to excellence and their desire to foster relationships while enhancing our areas cultural arts is simply unmatched. We look forward to continuously supporting their mission of engaging, educating, and entertaining the greater community of the Palm Beaches.”
The Bryce Allyn Band will hit the stage to provide live entertainment for the evening’s festivities. Drink tickets are $20 each and VIP tickets are $125, which include three drink tickets, access to the VIP section with a food station, and an event t-shirt. Proceeds will benefit Palm Beach Symphony’s music education and community outreach events.
