Singer Island Spiny Lobsterfest

Singer Island Spiny LobsterfestFew words perk up our ears more than “lobsterfest.” Florida’s spiny lobster season is officially underway, with divers reaching their limits in just one dive, while the commercial boys are already reeling in traps brimming with the tasty bugs. This means local seafood houses have begun to roll out the specials. To celebrate, Sailfish Marina Resort‘s restaurant is throwing a party with third annual Singer Island Spiny Lobsterfest on Saturday, August 8.

Running from noon to 8 p.m., this all-day event has something for everyone: tasty local lobster dishes, voodoo buckets, art exhibits, raffles, and children activities, complete with bounce houses, dunk tanks, face-painting, and water slides as well as some educational outlets with park services exhibits about the ecosystem and the lobster we so enjoy. Proceeds of the event will go to the West Palm Beach Fishing Club.

  • Admission to the third annual Singer Island Spiny Lobsterfest is free and open to the public. Parking will be a bear for this event, with the valet parking lot sure to fill quickly. Luckily for you, the Sailfish Marina trolley will be shuttling people to and from Singer Island’s Ocean Mall – click here for a map. For more information, visit sailfishmarina.com.

With all that said, a lobsterfest wouldn’t be complete without, well, lobster. Items on the menu can be purchased with food tickets, costing $5 per ticket, each item costing one ticket unless stated otherwise. Here’s a look at what’s on the menu this year:

  • Charcoal Grilled Lobster Tails (two tickets)
  • Lobster Po Boy
  • Lobster Roll and Lobster Potato Salad
  • Lobster Ceviche
  • Lobster Quesadilla
  • Lobster Ravioli

For non-lobster fare, dig into this:

  • Grouper Dogs
  • Conch Fritters
  • Cookies and Baked Goods
