School’s out for summer, but the Cox Science Center and Aquarium in West Palm Beach will host science-forward fun all season long.

Through September, the center will invite visitors to on-site events, including Half Price for Heroes; learning about STEM with Dr. Seuss at Nights at the Museum on June 24; and the ongoing “Mindbender Mansion” and “Images of Science” exhibitions, featuring the research work of Max Planck Society scientists. This summer, the center is also offering guests a Summer Savings Pass to visit the Cox Science Center and Aquarium, Lion Country Safari, and Zoo Miami at discounted prices.

As the country gears up to celebrate its birthday on July 4, the Science Center is celebrating veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and Gold Star Families (as well as up to four guests) with half-off admission the last Saturday of every month. Guests are kindly asked to show ID and can find more information here.

Then, get little ones engaged in STEM with Dr. Seuss’ help during Nights at the Museum. On June 24, from 6 to 9 p.m., activities abound with Thing 1 and Thing 2 corner bookmarks, Cat in the Hat’s STEM stack trick, and an “Oh the bean bags we will throw” game. Fan favorites will also be available, including magnet fishing, planetarium shows, touch tanks, mini golf, and stargazing in the observatory (weather permitting). Proceeds from this event will be shared to support the Science Center and STOP! Children’s Cancer.

Visitors can also spend the day enraptured by the center’s two ongoing exhibitions: “Mindbender Mansion” and “Images of Science,” both on view to September 4. The puzzling world of “Mindbender Mansion” is  full of brainteasers and interactive challenges guaranteed to test the brain power and problem-solving skills of even the most experienced puzzlers. In the “Images of Science” exhibit, guests can tour among the research of Max Planck Society scientists. Each year, scientists from the more than 80 Max Planck Society Research Institutes around the world submit images displaying their discoveries. The traveling exhibit provides a glimpse into the world of science, from tiny neurons within the brain to insights into the early universe.
