As of November 29, the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach has resumed its Gilded Age–style tea service in its Railcar No. 91 Tea Room. Presented on Whitehall Collection china, the service includes tea sandwiches and desserts that were popular during the Gilded Age, such as brownies—a treat that debuted at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair.
To accompany the bites, patrons will sip on Whitehall Special Blend Tea, a proprietary blend of two Gilded Age teas that the Flagler Museum’s executive director, John Blades, created in partnership with Harney & Sons Fine Teas. The blend is also available at the H. M. Flagler & Co. Museum Store and makes for a great stocking stuffer or Hanukkah gift. The Flagler’s tea service is open for the season through May 11, with special services slated for Valentine’s Day (February 14-16), and Mother’s Day (May 10-11).
