The series, which kicked off on Saturday, July 11, is designed to engage audiences and teach them the entrepreneurs’ crafts, like brewing coffee, caring for plants, making over spaces, preparing healthy vegan meals, and self-care for men. The virtual workshops were coordinated by Andres Espinoza, co-founder of Gamelab, the West Palm Beach-based company that creates and manages the digital marketing for Thoroughfare.

“We want to keep these businesses relevant and top of mind while their physical shops await reopening,” said Sherryl Muriente, manager of urban placemaking at the DDA. “Given the success of the DDA’s other recent virtual events, this seemed like a logical step. We’re really excited for what Gamelab has planned.”
The next virtual workshop will be streamed on Thoroughfare’s Facebook Live at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, and will teach viewers how to hone their skills as at-home baristas with Oceana Coffee. On Tuesday, July 21, tune in to learn how to boost your immune system and craft the perfect plant-based meal with Dina Lauro, owner of Dina’s Vegan Deli & Desserts.

The fun will continue on Wednesday, July 29, with a session about getting the most out of your wardrobe with After 5 Lux. Men’s wellbeing and mental health take over the series on Wednesday, August 5, as Jessica Cummings, owners of Oddfellows, walks viewers through men’s self-care in this special session. The final session in the series will encourage viewers to channel their green thumb with GROW on Wednesday, August 12. In addition to the workshops, each business will take over Thoroughfare’s social channels (@VisitThoroughfare) for the week leading up to their workshop to highlight their offerings and operations.
