To Kill a Mockingbird
Each year, the Maltz Jupiter Theatre’s Youth Artists’ Chair program invites budding thespians to mount a play—and the students are responsible for every aspect of the production. On August 11, the 2018 YAC will stage To Kill a Mockingbird. A dramatic interpretation of the acclaimed novel by Harper Lee, this play might be too sophisticated for young children, but middle and high schoolers will love watching their peers tell this important tale from American literature.

Romeo and Juliet
The Maltz Jupiter Theatre will stage a student production of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet August 8-11. The tragic tale set in Verona, Italy, follows two teens from feuding families who find themselves in the throes—and eventual downfall—of love. Written between 1594 and 1596, Romeo and Juliet was an instant success in Shakespeare’s day and continued to gain popularity in the centuries that followed. The Word Collector
The Maltz Jupiter Theatre, together with the Lighthouse ArtCenter, will stage The Word Collector Saturday, December 21. This family-friendly show by Peter H. Reynolds follows Jerome as he discovers the magic of words and how they connect us to the beauty of the world around us. Tickets are $5.
