The walls of the Boca Raton Museum of Art will cascade with installations by Miami-based Haitian-American artist Vickie Pierre from June 9 to September 5. In “Be My Herald of What’s to Come,” Pierre showcases her affinity for the whimsical by playing up her stamp works with found objects that speak to feminine tropes—mass-produced home decor, vintage perfume bottles, hooped skirts, and petticoats frequent her work. Pierre dials up the drama with vintage sconces, decorative resin, her own artistic musings, and song lyrics to create subtly narrative pieces that weave stories of her heritage and femininity.
