Payne Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach will host ‘Voting is a Vibe’ Community Block Party on Saturday, August 15, ahead of Florida’s primary election (August 18) in partnership with the Black Church Action Fund. The event will promote voter registration, early voting, and completing the 2020 Census. The block party will kick off at 12 p.m.

“We are excited to support this community effort to register voters and increase participation in the census as a form of faithful resistance,” said Reverend Henry E. Green, III, pastor of Payne Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. “Our goal is to register no less than 300 new voters in Palm Beach County and with the support of the mighty historic Northwest, we will!”

The block party will be sponsored by the Black Church Action Fund and Faith for Black Lives in effort to highlight early voting in Florida and the importance of the Black vote.

“Even in a pandemic, we must do the work to engage our communities for political power. The faith community must engage in building the beloved community we wish to see,” said Reverend Stephen A. Green, chairman of Faith for Black Lives.

Attendees will enjoy live music, games, art exhibitions, and free food. For more information, contact (561) 832 – 2035.
