The West Palm Beach Library Foundation has something to celebrate.
The foundation just unveiled Supporters of the West Palm Beach Library Foundation, a group organized to build awareness for both the library and the foundation, as well as assist in raising funds for the library’s vital programming.
The vision for the new group came from a West Palm Beach Library Foundation board retreat last fall, explained Board Chair Steven Mayans. “The Mandel Public Library enjoys deep public support, and many in our community have expressed a desire for greater engagement. We wanted to supply it.”
Those interested in becoming charter members of the Supporters are invited to attend a Kickoff Reception on September 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mandel Public Library in West Palm Beach. An open bar and light appetizers will be provided.
Foundation board member Jill Dvareckas, who chairs the Supporters Board Committee, said, “Our newly formed group will provide our community an opportunity to support our mission to fund the life-changing programs offered at the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach, while meeting likeminded people.”
The reception will include the formation of three working committees of Supporters, including: Event Planning, working to develop bi-monthly social activities; Corporate Engagement, working to increase corporations’ involvement and investment in the foundation’s funding; and Community Engagement, working to help grow the membership base.
