The Miami Design District is a creative neighborhood where you can shop, dine, experience contemporary art and design, and get inspired year-round. The District is home to more than 120 flagship stores including Bottega Veneta, Cartier, Dior, Gucci, Fendi, Hermes and Louis Vuitton, with the newest neighbors being Alexander McQueen and Off-White – making it one of the world’s greatest shopping destinations.
Art in the District
In the District, you are surrounded by some of the best architecture and public art in the country. The well-known and highly curated Public Art program includes works by none other than Urs Fischer, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, John Baldassari and Buckminster Fuller — to name a few. Visitors can take part in free monthly Art Tours or visit one of three cultural institutions — ICA Miami, the de la Cruz Collection and Locust Projects — all within blocks of each other and free to the public. In addition to the impressive roster of artists, the store facades are each unique in style and architecture, providing a picture perfect backdrop for your visit.
This year, the Design District is excited to host Design Miami/ Podium: America(s), the international design fair known for the best in historic and contemporary design. Timed tickets are available for purchase from November 28th until December 6th.
A Taste of the District
The culinary experiences range from low key dining to buzzy hotspots. Pharrell and David Grutman’s Swan and L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon make any night out special. OTL and Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink and the popular food hall concept of Mia Market are great for a quick bite on-the-go or a casual get together with friends. Those with a love for ice cream will appreciate the multiple artisanal ice cream experiences on hand in the District.
