Profile
For over 45 years, Dr. Henry Shapiro has served Jupiter’s community, practicing hematology and oncology. Dr. Shapiro was instrumental in the formation of Jupiter Hospital’s oncology department in 1981 and served as its first director of oncology in 1997. He offers patients the latest genomic testing, targeted therapy and immunotherapy, limiting the use of more aggressive therapies. His experience and compassionate care supersede the care given by larger centers where patients often are faced with different oncologists and nurse practitioners.Dr. Shapiro specializes in pulmonary, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and head/neck malignancies as well as melanoma and all hematologic disorders. Year after year, his peers award him the “Top Doc of Palm Beach County” for oncology in Palm Beach Illustrated magazine. He works closely with a team of highly experienced local specialists and refers to major cancer centers for investigational therapies if needed.
He remains enthusiastic about his work and his patient’s therapy. Through many years, Dr. Shapiro has been well known for his dedication to the health and well-being of his patients.
