December 8, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
$10 – $100Palm Beach Symphony celebrates Beethoven’s 250th birthday in a spectacular season-opening concert under the direction of Gerard Schwarz.
Borrowing its title from Friedrich Schiller’s “starry canopy” lyric that inspired the lyrics of Beethoven’s 9th, the Symphony’s first masterworks of the season – Canopy of Stars – is illuminated by a roster of A-listers from the classical music world. In addition to acclaimed pianist Horacio Gutiérrez performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4, the concert features an exciting lineup of singers, including guest soloists, Sandra Lopez (soprano) Robynne Redmon (mezzo-soprano), Stuart Neill (tenor), Clayton Brainerd (bass-baritone); and guest chorus The Palm Beach Atlantic University Oratorio Chorus, with The Masterworks Chorus of the Palm Beaches, and The Choral Society of the Palm Beaches.
This tribute to Beethoven marks 250 years since his birth and celebrates his legacy as the most often performed classical music composer in a spectacular season-opening concert at the Kravis Center.
