As families across Palm Beach County prepare for the upcoming school year, Jack the Bike Man is calling on the community to donate gently used bikes to support students in need. The organization shared it’s running particularly low on children’s bicycles, sized 24” and smaller, heading into the 2025-2026 school year. Through community bike drives and its programs, Jack the Bike Man gifts this essential mode of transportation to students who otherwise might not have access.
Within the nonprofit’s Wheels of Hope program are three key initiatives: “Character Counts,” which provides bikes, helmets, and locks to students selected by teachers and administrators in Title 1 schools; volunteer hours at the nonprofit’s West Palm Beach repair and sales shop; and its “Joyful Giving” program, which provides bikes throughout the year in partnership with area organizations.
To donate, drop off bikes at Jack the Bike Man at 420 Claremore Drive in West Palm Beach. Alternatively, the nonprofit can arrange pickup for five or more bikes throughout Palm Beach County during coordinated neighborhood or organizational bike drives.
All types of children’s and adult bikes in usable condition are welcome. Donated bikes are cleaned, repaired and refurbished by the nonprofit’s trained technicians and volunteers before being distributed throughout the summer and fall.
