In a world of technology and digital expression, a group of young professionals is reminding others to appreciate the skilled lines of a brushstroke or the focused lens of a camera.
The Young Friends of the Norton seeks to educate the community about West Palm Beach’s premier art museum and inspire a love of art in others. Members network with fellow art lovers while supporting and expanding the museum. Recently, the group helped purchase two pieces in a permanent exhibit.

The Young Friends also donates art supplies to local school children to promote arts education at an early age, an effort personal to chairman Daniel Kahan, a West Palm Beach architect.
“Growing up, the arts were always critically important in our family,” he says. “We were exposed to painting, sculpture, music and design at a very young age.
“The continued success and excellence of the museum depend on the excitement of the next generation,” he adds. “For me, the primary arts museum in any community has a duty and obligation to anchor the broader culture in that community.”
