When Grandview Heights resident Amanda Mizell, aka The Flohemian on Instagram, found herself gallivanting around the Sunshine State for her 9-to-5 in pharmaceutical sales, she squeezed her work trips into something a bit juicier. Coast to coast and Keys to Panhandle, Mizell showcases offbeat, authentic Florida, from roadside stops to natural wonders to long-standing institutions. Her new website is a repository for her insight into all things Florida—complete with road trip guides, a Google Map with hidden gems, a roundup of the best key lime pies, and more. Next, Mizell plans to curate an online “souvenir shop” with Florida-made products and art, plus themed Airbnbs throughout the state.

The Banyan Tree Tunnel on SE St. Lucie Blvd. “A completely underrated drive. Nearby, Gilbert’s Coffee Bar is dedicated to Florida history, and their horchata iced coffee is to-die-for.”

Blowing Rocks Preserve “Visit in three phases: a calm day during low tide so you can ‘spelunk’ the shoreline; snorkel the rocks; and then in high tide and high winds so you can see what Blowing Rocks is really about.”
