August 22: Art Shift

The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County will spotlight local emerging artists as part of its Art Shift performance on Thursday, August 22 at 7:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to “pay what you can” for this showcase starring the Demetrius Klein Dance Company with special guests Emmanuella Dorcely of Nemma Productions and Ericka Squire of Natural Movers Foundation. The performance will take place at the Cultural Council’s gallery space in downtown Lake Worth Beach. For more information, click here.

August 23: Alexis Cole

Jazz vocalist Alexis Cole will perform at Arts Garage in Delray Beach on Friday, August 23. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Cole spent seven years in the Army’s Big Band. In the years since, she’s sung at a variety of impressive venues, including Carnegie Hall. During her Arts Garage set, which begins at 8 p.m., Cole will perform jazz standards as well as a few surprises. For more information, click here.

August 24: Guided Tour of Boca Resort

The Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum will host a guided tour of the Boca Raton Resort & Club at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 24. The 1.5-hour tour will cover the hotel’s history and highlight its unique Addison Mizner–designed architecture. Tickets are $15 per person and must be reserved online by noon on Friday, August 23.
