While working as a science teacher and a women’s soccer coach, Shea Stockman found he was displeased with the custom T-shirt options available to him. He began creating screen-printed designs himself, an endeavor that morphed into Cyan Shores, a screen-printing company he runs out of his West Palm Beach warehouse. “Screen printing is the process of pressing ink through a mesh screen to lay a smooth layer of ink onto an object,” says Stockman. “We print on all types of garments, from shirts and hoodies to shoes, hats, posters, pants, and more. What makes screen printing unique is that it lays one color and layer of ink at a time. This opens the possibility to a gamut of colors and specialty inks that a normal CMYK printer doesn’t have.” Want to try your hand at screen printing? Stockman hosts regular classes at the warehouse.
