Natural Movers Foundation will present Open Spaces, an interactive dance performance, at the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach on September 30 at 2 p.m.
This second annual site-specific showcase will feature original works and repertoire by eight Palm Beach County-based dance artists. The works will be inspired by specific artworks and spaces at the museum, and will give the community a chance to watch inspiring, transformative contemporary, ballet, and hip-hop choreography.
“We’re delighted to partner with the Norton Museum of Art and bring Open Spaces back this year,” said Ericka Squire, Natural Movers Foundation founder and CEO. “Open Spaces shines a light on Palm Beach County dance artists and offers community members of all ages and perspectives an approachable way to experience dance.”
Guests will be led throughout the museum to see each performance up close. Dance films will also be shown. Afterward, guests can enjoy a talk-back session with the choreographers about the inspiration behind their works.
This year’s featured choreographers include Larry Albright; Clarence Brooks; Olivia Capasso, Kenny Fowler, Loud Live Productions; Branndi Lewis, Grounded Dance Company; Sarah Claire Smith; Shanna Woods, Olujimi Dance Theatre; and Ericka Squire, Ericka Squire//The Dance Company.
The performance is included with museum admission. For more information, visit norton.org.
