Nothing says “holiday morning” quite like waking up to freshly baked pastries, whether they be cinnamon rolls, seasonal breads, or fruit-filled pinwheels. For those who lack a baker’s touch, Stacy Paret of Sweet Stacy’s is here to help.

Best known across the Palm Beaches for her artistic and delicious cakes for special occasions, Paret recently introduced café hours at her West Palm Beach studio. Every Friday and Saturday morning from 8:30 a.m. to when she sells out, she offers an array of what she describes as “breakfasty-brunch” goodies that express her Southern roots.

“Comfort food can be really pretty and nice,” says Paret, who adds that she’s had fun playing with savory bites such as smoked ham and cheese turnovers with hot honey. Another common fixture on her menu are decadent muffins in flavors such as blueberry peach cobbler and sweet cherry cobbler. The best way to get the full café experience? Order a brunch box to sample one of everything available that day and a cup of locally roasted Crux coffee to wash it all down.

In addition to the café, Paret is still creating her fanciful cakes and dessert spreads, all of which are made to order. “It’s like someone hands you a coloring book and crayons, but yours is edible,” Paret says of her custom creations. “While I do it, I feel like I’m playing. When you like it so much, it’s not work.”
