Robin Ganzert, PhD, is president and CEO of American Humane Society, the nation’s first humane organization dedicated to protecting animals in need of rescue, shelter, or care. She oversaw the launch of American Humane Society’s Sanctuary, a transformative, 15-acre space dedicated to strengthening the human-animal bond, and a hub for service dog trainings, rescue operations, and animal care.
Dr. Ganzert is guided by the belief that “you can’t protect what you don’t love, and you can’t love what you don’t know.” She is executive producer of Escape from Extinction: Rewilding, a Meryl Streep-narrated documentary highlighting global conservation and rewilding initiatives and is currently producing a film spotlighting critical environmental issues.
Author of The Humane Table: Cooking with Compassion, Mission Metamorphosis and Animal Stars, she will soon release a book celebrating humane cuisine, globally inspired stories, and our unifying connection with animals.
Dr. Ganzert serves on the boards of the Loro Parque Foundation and the Lois Pope LIFE Foundation and is a Trustee of the Palm Beach Chamber. Honored with the prestigious Gorilla Prize by Loro Parque for her conservation leadership, she has transformed American Humane Society from a national organization into a global force for good, active in 62 countries.
