The West Palm Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA) will host its annual Downtown Summit virtually on Thursday, August 20 at 5:30 p.m. During the free summit, representatives from the DDA will discuss future initiatives and upcoming projects, as well as the state of downtown West Palm Beach’s businesses, virtual programming, and more. The summit will be recorded and streamed on the DDA’s Facebook Page. The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session, facilitated by the DDA’s executive director, Raphael Clemente. Registration is required.

The presentation will include an in-depth look at how the DDA is supporting businesses and residents through the COVID-19 pandemic and consequent economic downturn. These include increasing grant eligibility for downtown businesses, innovative marketing strategies and virtual programming, free cleaning protocols, and legal assistance training, as well as adaptive support measures such as Dining on The Spot, a program that helped restaurants expand their dining rooms onto the street to follow recommended physical distancing guidelines. The DDA will also reveal some of its innovative plans to deal with these ongoing challenges for the coming year.
