Angle restaurant at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa has been honored for its outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2020 Restaurant Awards. The annual awards, which recognize restaurants around the world as the top destinations for wine-lovers, moved forward this year despite the effects of COVID-19.
“This year’s Wine Spectator Restaurant Award program celebrates restaurants’ resilience, dedication, and bravery during these unprecedented times,” said Marvin R. Shanken, editor and publisher of Wine Spectator. “We hope that all of our award winners and the people who make them special will find their way through the crisis to once again welcome us through their doors. We look forward to raising a glass together, and to new beginnings.”
The jewel of Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa’s culinary offerings, Angle features a menu of contemporary American cuisine with a singularly seasonal focus. Executive sous chef Matthew Gale’s menu of reinterpreted classics showcases the bounty of regional growers, alongside prime meats and market-driven seafood.
Angle’s wine list earned the Award of Excellence, signifying an expertly curated assortment of producers and a seamless coordination to the menu in both price and style.
“Angle’s award-winning wine program has been carefully constructed to ensure that there is something pleasing to every guest’s palate,” said Pamela Bafumo, Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa’s resident sommelier. “Wine is something that can be enjoyed at any time of day, and we have a selection for our guests for every occasion. We are honored and delighted with this recognition from the prestigious team of experts at Wine Spectator.”
Wine Spectator began its program to recognize the world’s best wine lists in 1981. There are three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award—with 2,289; 1,387; and 100 winners this year in each respective category.
