Enter a Land of Enchantment at Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens

A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Ann Norton Sculpture GardensUnder the light of the waxing Gibbous, slip into the realm of fairyland and enchanted woods as the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens transform into a stage for a strolling production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. On November 15 and 16, a band of local actors will recreate one of Shakespeare’s most popular works as secluded alcoves and courtyards within the 1.7-acre garden become the backdrop for a tale of love, myth and magic.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream has long been one of Shakespeare’s most accessible comedies, with some of his most fantastic characters and weaving multiple plot lines. The audience will quite literally follow the characters from the courts of Athens into the fairy-enchanted woods, where a tangled web of storylines intermingle as puppet master Oberon, the fairy king, mistakenly casts a spell on the wrong couple through his minion, Puck. Forbidden love is approved, new relationships form and redemption comes to fruition in what Puck would like all to believe is a dream.

Concurrently, production sponsor Diamante Atelier, a local diamond investment company, will display a rare diamond collection, including items from Elizabeth Taylor’s own line, House of Taylor.

  • Showtimes are as follows: November 15 and November 16 at 6:30 and 8 p.m.
  • Productions are limited to 25 guests per showing.
  • Tickets cost $75, with proceeds benefitting the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens.
