Resource Depot will unveil “Gathering: The Mixed Media Work of Kristin Miller,” a new exhibition opening September 18 in the Pam Sartory GalleRE. The exhibition gathers the shapes, lines, and textures from the natural world, inspired by clouds on a clothesline, twigs in a nest, and light-filled memories of abstract landscapes.
Miller’s layered horizon lines consider the spaces between sea and sky, birds and humans, standing still and gentle walking. In the exhibition, Miller reflects on how daily life becomes an act of gathering, as fragments of people, landscapes, and memories are pieced together to form abstract impressions. The exhibition features delicate works comprised of found ephemera, paper installations incorporating watercolor and embroidery, fabric assemblages, and mixed media works on paper.
The exhibition will debut during an opening reception and GalleRE Remix September 18, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. “Gathering” will be on view to October 22 and is open to tour Tuesday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
