Hearing the Ovarian Cancer Whisper, Inc. (H.O.W.) will host its inaugural H.O.W. Strong 5K Run/Walk at Dreher Park in West Palm Beach September 26. The event will gather runners, walkers, ovarian cancer survivors, families, local businesses, and community members for a morning dedicated to raising awareness and providing meaningful support to women facing ovarian cancer.
Proceeds from the event will benefit H.O.W.’s Glenda M. Wright Angel Fund, which provides direct financial assistance to women undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer who are experiencing financial hardship. The fund helps with everyday living expenses, including rent or mortgage payments, utilities, phone bills, car payments, and other approved necessities, easing the financial burden of treatment so women can focus on their health and their families.
H.O.W. Strong is designed to be more than a 5K. Race morning will feature a Vendor Tent Village with local businesses, health and wellness organizations, and community partners, creating a fun and engaging atmosphere for participants and their families. The Pink Bumper Fire Truck will also make a special appearance on race day in support of the cause.
Runners and walkers of all levels are encouraged to participate, along with ovarian cancer survivors, families, friends, and anyone who wants to support the cause. Every registration, sponsorship, and step taken on race morning will help H.O.W. continue providing meaningful assistance to local women with ovarian cancer when they need it most.
