Music students from the “Building a String Orchestra and Self-Esteem” program, a partnership between The Symphonia and the Boys & Girls Club of Delray Beach, will present a live, in-person recital on Tuesday, May 25, at 6 p.m. The recital will take place at the Delray Beach chapter and will feature six children, ages 6-14, who took violin and cello lessons virtually during the pandemic. This will be the first time that the children will perform together in person.

The Symphonia’s Building a String Orchestra and Self-Esteem program launched in 2017 and was held in-person at the Boys & Girls Club facility in Delray Beach. Grants allowed The Symphonia to continue the lessons virtually during the height of the pandemic. Grantors of the initial launch and subsequent programs include Impact 100 Palm Beach County and the Virginia and Harvey Kimmel Family Fund through the Community Foundation of Palm Beach County.
