Stoked On Life Palm Beach, a local nonprofit organization that offers surf therapy sessions for teenagers and adults struggling with mental health and substance misuse disorders, will host a four-week-long Surf Therapy Clinic on October 13, October 20, October 27, and November 3. Each session takes place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Jupiter Inlet. The clinic is $200 and sessions may be covered by some health insurances.

The 90-minute sessions focus on mental health topics, with land-based group therapy and ocean experiences with instructors. Participants will explore and integrate their therapy and surf goals with trained facilitators, volunteers, and fellow group members.

To kick off the clinic, Stoked On Life Palm Beach will host a free community drop-in session on September 26, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Jupiter Inlet. The drop-in session will feature surf therapy, breath work, cold plunge, and lunch. Registration is required.

Founded by Palm Beach County-based licensed therapist Allison Bishop, Stoked On Life Palm Beach utilizes evidence-based experiential therapy that has been shown to improve mental health and happiness, as well as encourage behavioral changes, through increasing mindfulness, building self-efficacy, activating “flow,” reducing cravings, and more.
